    Restrikes are a pain.

I am trying to figure out how to tell the difference between a restruck 1908 Hungarian 100 Korona and an actual strike of the same coin. Nothing in the catalogs or online seems to help. The consensus is that a 'UP' mark on the coin indicates restrike, but I have found several examples with 'KB' under the shield that are acknowledged restrikes, as in the photo. Does the 'UP' appear elsewhere, like on the edge?

Is there a sure-fire method for separating restrikes from original strikes of the Hungarian 100 korona?

    Thanks!
