So when I was researching my tailings from my first penny box that I had ever searched, I found things that my amateur eyes that saw in the second round of searching: The finger points to a 2006 coin from The Bahamas; The screwdriver points to a toned 1953-D wheatie; The red mechanical pencil points to a 1969 canadian cent. Now I have 6 wheaties, 3 foreigns, and 1 novelty coin.
Oh I forgot about these red copper cents too. And Im rescanning my tailings so i can get any S-minted cents i missed
If you have a microscope or something look for RPMs afterwords there fun to find,variety Vista is a great website to start off.
The pencil was bad enough but a screwdriver? Just remove them from the box and take the photos. We have no reason not to believe you and your chances of damage are lowered.
I have a warm, Incandescent lighting. The ones that I missed that weren’t reflective, were missed because of my background lighting. Plus I wanted to let you guys try to find them on the mostly, already-sorted coins, but last minute i couldn’t find extra 2 long fingers to point the findings at. (If you would have looked closely, the pencil isn’t touching the Canadian cent and it is covered in some rubber for extra comfort while writing a letter. Plus I have almost 10 1953-D pennies now that were found in jars, coin star reject slots, and car compartments.)
Someone on CT did that. They piled all the coins on a table and kinda hid the ones you were supposed to find. Most of the members did fairly well.
I think they were just there as harmless pointers, but yeah, all those sharp implements on top of the coins made me cringe, too.
