Any 3 cent nickel experts out there willing to give me some advice on this coin? Good feedback from the seller, but mostly from lower rated buyers (possible new folks like myself). From his handle, sounds like maybe he is a metal detector person. Want one for my type set...looks cleaned for sure. Would be ok with that, just don't want a fake 3 cent piece. Upper left of overse looks weird? Thoughts? http://cgi.ebay.com/OLD-US-COIN-186...74?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item5adc8cd7ea
It has had a cleaning in the past and it is genuine, but if I were you, I'd look elsewhere. Many better examples for low prices. You could pick up an uncleaned and better condition example of that same exact coin for $18-$20.
They are hard to find but look for nickel 3-cent coins with ALL of the lines complete in the Roman numeral "III" on the reverse.
