I RAN ACROSS THIS COIN AND I HAVE FOUND SOME INFO ABOUT IT ONLINE BUT IT SEEMS THAT FROM THAT INFO THIS COIN SHOULD BE COPPER. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
There was also a brass version produced as a circulating commemorative https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces242469.html
WHAT'S WRONG? TYPING IN CAPS FOR STARTERS! IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS USED IN SOME EXPERIMENT AND CLEANED. VALUE? NOT A LOT!!!
I agree with this. If you look at the damage, they are about positioned where one might mount the clasp for a button, for example. I've seen lots of coins turned into pins or jewelry. For example, see this 1913 Prussia 2 mark pin. There certainly are a lot of crude Chinese fakes out there, but this series isn't particularly valuable to begin with, so it would be an odd target to make fakes of.
