Hello all. What are these and what is your take and please comment. Damaged coins or works of Art? Collectible or Novelty?
Here is one from another coin forum that I frequent (less than here) and borrowed.

Yes, they are all of the above. And very collectible. These were done around the turn of the century, when those particular host coins were still circulating. I had one on a Barber dime, once. I gather that is a half dollar? I have even seen one or two that people found metal detecting!

    That's a very nice piece.

I like them as a novelty though I don't collect them. The only one I have is a bit unusual. It's a portrait of Kennedy on a 1960s large Irish Penny. Not sure if I have a picture or not but will take a look.

Here is a 1964 Kennedy Half. It says that only 500 were made. I have no verification of that, and do not know who they were made by.

I also have a 1930 LWC made into a pin, and a 1913 LWC that i believe was a braclet charm due to the fact it has only one solder point on the reverse.
Both of these show signs of haveing been gilted.

Most likely a lapel or hat stick pin. Neat examples!

Here is a Stick Pin for sale on Etsy

Here's the coin I mentioned in post #4. Kennedy was immensely popular in Ireland especially in the Catholic population centers. The coin i JFK Pop-Out-1968 Irish Penny 2.JPG coin is a 1968 Irish Penny. JFK Pop-Out -1968 Irish Penny 1.JPG

Okay, here's my nicest one made of 16k gold! Strange that it's 16k but that's okay as it's the only one I've ever come across. I'm happy with it and it's a tad better than 14k! :D

Here’s George W. Bush on a Kennedy Half Dollar. It’s also played in .999 24kt gold. What a novelty.
Notice the pop out side is on the reverse and the inclused side is on the obverse but the coin itself is upside down. The date is at the top.
