Refund shipping for returned US Mint item

Hi All,
I received a 2008 Presidential $ proof set and it was nice. While waiting for it to arrive I also signed up for the subscription. When the second set arrived it was a mess. Two of the coins had obvious scratches and one was already discolored. I sent the set back and received a confirmation e-mail for the refund. I think i saw a posting here about getting a refund for the shipping. Can anybody steer me in the right direction? Thanks Rich

You have to call them and ask for it.
It's my understanding they will not offer it if you don't ask.

I do it all the time
they put you on hold for awhile but just wait it out and they ask the amount and credit card info and they say thank you and have a nice day and bam you are done
some of those ladies are really nice over there
