    Slight chance it is shear lines from the punching out of the blank. Usually they are wiped out by the edge milling process or by being forced against the collar during striking, but sometimes they survive. If you look at the edges of a lot of cents and especially nickels you will sometimes see the shear lines.

    Even if it is shear lines it is not reeding and it is not a mint error.
