Reeded edge nickel

    I found this a few years back. Has anyone seen one like this before and if so what value would it have? The pictures are not great but it is partially reeded like a dime between the arrows and the reeded part juts out from the rest of the unreeded edge. There are no other defects to the coin that I can see. Thanx

    my guess is post-mint damage

    It was damaged in a coin-counting or coin wrapping machine. Your coin has a partial collar error. Because the obverse face had a diameter greater than normal, it didn't fit into the machine properly and was damaged by the fluted or rifled chamber.
