I just received my copy of the Red Book Professional Edition 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] edition. It has much more info than the regular Red Book. It has an overview of each denomination. It breaks out circulation and proof info. It has an overview of each coin, including varieties and grading information, with great life sized and enlarged pics. It lists the total number of graded coins with the average grade of all grades, and the percent of graded coins in MS. It even lists auction price records. Spiral bound, 8.5 by 11 inches, glossy paper. I’m impressed by this book. $29.95 on the Whitman web site, but I’m sure it’s available elsewhere, too.
I never knew there was a difference in the types of editions of the Red Book. Next time I purchase a copy, I guess I will have to go with the professional edition.
The Pro edition should take precedence over the regular red book. It just seems like a logical choice for today's digital market.
