I was looking at listings for digital pocket scales on eBay and Amazon and there's a lot of them. Does anyone have a particular one that you like?
I got mine for $10 about 8 years ago. It only rounds to the nearest 1/100th, but "it takes a licking and keeps on ticking". Chris
No brand recommendation but try to get one accurate to at least +/- .01 grams and if you can one that comes with a calibration weight. The higher the maximum weight it can handle the better. For the cheap ones probably the best you will be able to find will go up to 50 grams, but you might find some that will go to 100. Higher than that will cost you more but not enough to break the bank. You might find some that are good to +/- .001 grams. Those can be very good for specific gravity measurements, but they WILL cost more and once you start getting to that precision range they really need to be enclosed. Air currents can start being enough to affect your readings. A .01 scale can be used for SG measurement but I would only consider the results to be accurate to one decimal place.
I have one that is accurate to only 0.1 and I find it useful only for rough checking weights . Wait and find on that will weigh 0.01 . You'll be glad you did .
