Last week when I went to the bank I was greeted by a teller who told me that they have some old coins that an older man brought in. They told me they were going to wait a week to see if it was an accident and he wanted them back, if he never came (which they were pretty sure was the case) I could have them. According to them he brought in a roll of dimes, 20 of them were silver. Also some nickels, which she saved the old ones for me including the war nickels and buffalo nickels. She had them for a total of three weeks, two weeks already before I came in the first time, the man never came and today she gave them to me. Anyways, I'm very happy with the coins. Sounds like an old coin jar clean out to me.

So far my biggest find since my 32 Walking Liberty Half Dollars at the Supermarket last year.

    Nickels:

    Buffalos: Total of 6
    Dateless
1918 (Very worn date but legible under loupe)
    1926
    1930
    1936
    1937 (Great condition, maybe EF)

War Nickels: Total of 6 (One not pictured)

    1945p

    Other nickels:

    4 Prewar 1940's nickels
    5 1946-1952
    6 1960-1964

    (One war nickel not pictured)

I've said it before, make friends with your bank tellers. This is a fine example of what you can get from them if they like you. Take that teller to lunch or bring her a bunch of flowers. :)

Wow you have yourself a good bank and a very nice teller. I wish mine was like that they have become very impersonal since being bought out by
    a larger bank

It's why I stopped banking and started Credit Unioning, friendly tellers that call my cellphone when goodies come across the counter.

The bank I use wouldn't save me air if I was stuck in a Coke bottle.

That was nice of her. And what is wrong with these people throwing away money by turning these coins into the bank for face?!

She emptied out the roll when she got them to put into her tray, that is when she noticed that there was a lot of silver. I never got to see it.

Time to bring in a box of Donuts for sure. This bank has been great in the past saving all the old money they get for me and I really appreciate it. Just last week they even let me look at all of their SBA Dollars on the spot to check for the Wide Rim (Which I found two of). :)
