yea I thought maybe being sequential meant something, just being on safe side to ask, thank you much appreciated
Just means they came fresh from the Fed probably. I tend to get a lot of sequential $100 bills when I return my CRH.
NO! I know collectors who keep serials such as these. Two in row? No usually unless they are otherwise special, but three and above, are interesting... or so it is said.
Not exactly. They were printed at the main Bureau of Engraving and Printing (https://www.moneyfactory.gov ) main facility, rather than the Fort Worth plant. (No FW to the left of the F at the right hand side of the note.) From BEP they go to the Federal Reserve. It used to be that they went to the regional bank indicated on the note. A=Boston, B= New York, ... L=San Francisco. But that is no longer true. Now, they just go where they are needed. Banks that are members of the Federal Reserve Board are the ones that buy the notes. From there, they go to local banks via transfers. However, if you got the notes from a retail store (commonly enough), then a commercial carrier, such as Guardia, actually stores, sorts, tallies, and delivers money for a fee. There is much more. All of that is in these bills. Do not discount another collector's passion.
We have members of our local club who are passionate collectors of circulating paper. Even very few numismatists know how to read the details. Look at your money. Find the FW for Fort Worth. It indicates the branch printing office of the BEP. 50-Subject Printing 2014 On February 14, the BEP ushers in a new era by completing its first $1 note 50-subject production order. Fifty-subject and 32-subject notes are distinguishable by one minor technical change. On a 50-subject produced note, the letter and number of the alpha numeric note-position identifier, is the same font size and smaller than the alpha letter of the 32-subject note. In comparison, on the 32-subject note, the number is a smaller font size compared to the letter.
Was not discounting his passion at all. He simply asked if they were worth hanging onto. I simply stated my opinion that since they were new and had no interesting serial numbers or other errors that they were probably spenders. I still stand by my statement that they are spenders. You can get fresh stacks from the bank that will all be sequential. Is there a premium for that? Probably not, unless there is something "special". That being said, he can keep or spend as he so chooses.
I can go to my bank and ask for a stack of 100 strapped sequential bills. Or a brick of them. They are nothing special. Except they smell and feel really nice
wow I didn't mean to cause a debate. one more question on another dollar bill , would the first three numbers on serial # being 007 be any desire being james bond 007
one more question, would there be any interest for this dollar bill having double 007 for james bond for the first three numbers
