Looking for common date/no varieties/problem-free examples at a coin show tomorrow. I've been reading Greysheet/CDN prices and completed Heritage auctions, and the following table is what I came up with. What do you all think? Are these reasonable prices to expect at a coin show? BTW, I am not looking at 1856 FE's. AU50: HA=$160-$180 (CDN=$165-180) AU55: HA=$180-$220 AU58: HA=$250-$300
I wish I was able to take pics of mine, at work. May get an opportunity this weekend but that won't help you now. First, I'm not a fan of slabs. So it stands to reason mine is raw. Not perfect but nice. Maybe an AU50 or VF. I'm a little harsh when self grading. The point I'm trying to make is you can get a real nice raw 1858 or 57 for under $50. I got my best one a 1858 from an auction at my LCS for just under $30. Don't remember exact cost.
I don't think for a second you'll find a dealer selling a graded AU50 flying eagle for $160-180. Most of them try to sell XF45's for $150. At a show, expect for them to have AU50's priced around $200-$220.
What you like a Larson fan? I got a very weirdly toned 57 FE out of a roll one time. Obviously seeded. I think it looks like crap. Got a decent 57 on ebay for around $10, then the 58 already mentioned. That sums up all my FE's. But I do see some nice ones around for less that $50. But they are RAW.
I agree, I've been waiting for a nice one for a while. It's taken me years to acquire some coins for my sets (2 1/2 for my 1946 Aussie Penny and 3 for the 1925). But if I'm patient I can always find the coin I'm looking for, for the price I want.
Well I got these from Ebay but sure as heck paid a little more that 5$ a piece but of course they are better than G/VG.
To clarify, if he wants an AU for $5-$50, what he needs to look for is a seller who doesn't know what he has.
My 58 is probably comparable to your 57. I will try to get pics this weekend. Maybe so. He also said he wants graded. Just trying to save the guy some money.
No to the 2 but in for the 48. Hey I do like that 42 been saying for the last few years kids got tallent. All the dirt track drivers do well. Home of the chili bowl here. Lol.
Aw now you know I'm from the Oakland area so naturaly I've been a Raiders fan all my life. Damn we havent had a winning season in close to 15 years, so it seems. After last weeks come back win I am hopeful. NOT HAPPY with the Vegas move though.
