I was just wondering two things why is the front of this penny turning dark but not the back? And why is the picture on the front so defined? You can feel the difference.
@Kremb13 If one side is darker than the other, it may be the way that coin "sat" for a good part of it's life. I guess you could liken it to a sunbather who never turns over. The recesses of the devices of the obverse die are cut deeper than the recesses of the devices of the reverse die. Chris
