My son and I found this cent in a box today. Sure looks to me like the D over D variant. If so, we'd be delighted, as its surely the rarest thing we've found in many, many boxes. I took a dozen pics, this is the best one. I put the cent in a flip immediately so I wouldn't lose it.
There are quite a few different varieties for this year. Could even be D over S, super find in that condition. Ron:kewl:
There certainly seems to be a lot of curve in the first Mintmark. I'd really look at the D/S as a possibility. Excuse me. No Ss between 1955 and 1968 so D/S isn't possible. Is that a piece of a small 6 peaking under the large 6?
I'm sorry. No S's between 1955 and 1968 so that should eliminate the D/S, I would look at the Large date over small date though. There seems to be a hint of a small 6 peaking out under the large 6. I would delete this if I could. I thought my edit didn't take.
Thanks. I can't see any doubling anywhere but the mark under the D. On it, the upper left corner of the smaller mintmark looks like a well defined right angle, so a D is all I can guess.
The only one I know is RPM #13, which you can compare on Coppercoins.com, or look at this ebay ANACs certified one with nice photos. http://cgi.ebay.com/1960-D-D-RPM-13...mQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item3355e6a279 Jim
