I was doing some reading about the America The Beautifull series and it gave me an idea. How accurate are the images on the coin vs. the reality. Since i dont live in the US its harder for me to go take my own pictures (altough one day i would love to do that) so i turned myself tu google image search. I only have 4 coinc from the ATB series so these are the ones i have: going to try to do this for some more coins Was fun to do and i learned a bit about the images on the coins to.
glad you like it One to finish the searching for today: More of these pictures will follow in the future. Now i am going to dig in the War Nickel, because as i remember somebody chalenged me to find out things about it
Wonderful research now you must learn this...my wife still remembers this from elementry school http://youtu.be/ivpUBvOeD1s
its getting harder now Trying to find pictures that fit with other coins, but like for the Eisenhower dollar i can find an eagle landing on the moon
haha, but i meen the bird (like its on the coin, but i have found a nice picture for it, so more of these will come soon
Cool thread Koen. It's almost impossible to represent our national parks on a coin. All you get is a little snippet of it. For instance the Grand Canyon is such a huge place with so much incredible scenery that trying to fit any of it on a coin and do it any justice is beyond any designers ability. Even pics don't really give you the full scope of them. These just have to be seen in person to realize their awesomness.
I totally agree, especially with the Grand Canyon. I was absolutely blown away when I saw it for the first time in person. There are no pictures or words than can even come close to accurately showing or describing its beauty and size. It is staggering how big it really is.
