There seems too be a ton of these available at affordable prices. If you like them they can be found in quite a variety of designs. They would make a nice little collection but as I said they must be quite common for their age. Buy the best conditions you can find at the cheapest prices you can. I put these in a catagory of exonumia with the german spiel markes ( play money ) and the 1837 To Hanover tokens. See eBay #300880504833 for a lot of 11 George III half-sovereign tokens, similar, currently bid to around $1 per coin. The seller calls them "spade" tokens.
If I was starting over, I would love to collect George III coins and tokens, merchant tokens of that period, communion tokens, ferry tokens, etc. Copper or bronze medals too. There seems to be a lot of higher grades around, and those copper coins with a 200-year patina, really appeal to me.
