These are the only pictures I have. I'm comparing the mint mark locations to the 4 know locations, and it looks off. The s appears to be completely under the 0.

    Anyone?

kinda looks fake BUT the picture seems to have been taken at an odd angle so it may just be the POV that makes it look off.. i would ask for direct head of pictures to look for similarities and to see if possibly my theory is correct..

If its a fake it's a good one I think. The mint mark does look to be strange but I think I can make it the die chip in the S. Also I think the periods in the VDB appear to be right. This again is just my opinions. Very interested to see what others with lots more knowledge than me have to say.

Rule of thumb for me. I have purchased several Key date coins and asked the seller to have the coins graded, once the coins come back I'll pay the additional fee

  12. What does the 'm' in "1909SVDBm" cent stand for? Not sure about the story...no other items for sale even though he is selling off the entire collection. Probably good you missed out. TC

It looks real to me but I like to see it "in hand". I've been meaning to buy one for a long time but haven't been able to pull the trigger.

He did actually have other coins listed at the same time as this one. Not sure why it doesn't show anything in completed.

I'm looking to fill my dansco so I don't need it to be graded. I'm not looking to put a high grade in this slot, just something to complete the series(1909-2013). When I get the money to buy a 09svdb ms65rb then ill buy one slabbed. I don't see why I'd pay more money to get a slabbed g6 when I can get a raw f12 for the same price. Its ebay, so if its not real, I get refund.

TC- I'm guessing he hit the m instead of the , which on my ipad are side by side.

    Back to searching..... :sniper:

I don't think they are saying not to buy a certified S VDB just to look better. I have heard it said that there are 100 fakes out there for every real one. If you are not interesting in owning fake coins, but it slabbed!

I feel like I will never buy one because I will never know enough and be good enough at the details to tell if it is real or not.

I would however pick up a fake one on the streets of China just to have a fun story and have the blank filled. I picked up some awesome trade "dollars" last time! :)
