I can't say "Thank you" enough for all the help the gold experts have been on here. I keep diving into areas that I am not familiar with and hope to eventually and literally "strike gold." What are your thoughts on this piece? The slight "bubble" or raised surface concerns me, but it weighs spot on. 20241015_155824.jpg 20241015_155832.jpg 20241015_155844.jpg 20241015_155900.jpg 20241015_155830.jpg

NOT a gold expert, and these small pieces are even harder than most. I was nervous about that weak bow, especially on a Philly strike -- it reminds me of the "sinking devices" common on other counterfeits -- but it's even weaker on PCGS's MS69 example. So I'm waiting to hear from the folks who DO know what they're talking abouty.

PCGS's 69 has the mouth open more than this one, unless it is a worn die, on this one.

I have a really hard time judging features like that (two fairly-high-relief curved surfaces) where there isn't consistent lighting.

It's hard to say. Dentiles often give the fakes away, this one has some odd ones on the reverse starting at 5k to 9k. Genuine Philadelphia Mint pieces can have lumps in the fields, although this one has a few more than I would like.

    Here is a certified one.

I’m no expert on gold coins but it looks good to me. The anomalies I’m seeing do appear on gold coins.
