Does your reverse have the die cracks or were they just from a later die state? Can't tell from the picture.

No Cracks, that's stage C, according to coneca chart ...

I love war year coinage, never know what your going to find . I took some images of areas that are very interesting .

Die cracks don't start til stage C, for the hair and the one I have, has them, but in a different area . Here's a side by side and one of the front of the hair too .

There's no cracks on the reverse, that I can see .

    Here's a couple of shots of the Mint-Mark .

I'm thinking this might be a new discovery .

Hey Rick I went through my nickels today and found another one just like yours. A 44 D no die crack in hair or on reverse . Same doubling of the letters. It was in my dansco album set of Jefferson nickels that one is set B of my two complete sets. I'll try to post some pictures soon. I just got back from a 4 day 15 hour + @ day business trip. So I am trying to decompress from that.

Lets keep in mind that there is a MDO and it states:

    Designation: MD-1-O-V-CW from K-8 (P, D, S)

    Description:

Strong spread on B and RT of LIBERTY, and date

Strength of doubling will vary depending upon hub and die state

    Reverse is RDV-002

Which I don't think it is, hell even the die grooves above the " W " match perfect to DDO-001 . I don't think it #1 because of the reverse having no die cracks .

I am going to post this on both threads it has invaded. I do not want any close resemblance to continuation of this by either of you. Markus and Bigdog if you want to take a vacation, continue it. Jim.

I don't care for snakes.... no matter if they slither or walk, and have no issues with cutting their heads off . Now back to coins. My apologies to the OP for the distraction from the purpose of his thread.

Jim - I blocked him and pourposley avoided him - had NO contact - never a post to him or a PM - why all of a sudden is it my fault? I did my absolute best to avoid anything!!!!!
The only way I knew he was trolling me and posting Bullcrap instead of anything coin related was from other CT members letting me know - Why in the heck am I included in getting the boot when I did nothing wrong??

Rick I will check my other 44 D specimens in a day or two and see what others I may have to compare to. As stated before 4 days of 15 + hours days plus travel has me drained . I've been in Florida this week crisscrossing the state .

I have quite a few with the die crack running across the top of Tom's head. One has got to remember that nothing got wasted during the war years. They used these dies until they exploded .
