Rare for me: Showing off a new purchase, and a new scan of an old purchase!

  1. Unfortunatly, however, it's a scan. I'm still working on the pictures and can't master anything smaller than a quarter, yet.

The die is NOT rotated, I just didn't scan it correctly. Oops!

Many years ago I was given an 1853 dime by a friend. I saw this 1853 half dime for sale yesterday and when I found it it was in my price range, I brought it home.

This is only my second half dime! Purchased two days short of two years after my first, at that.

Ahh, what the heck, here's another. This isn't exactly a new purchase (I got it at CoinFest last October, from Larry/SeaEagleCoins) but the scan is new.

This is the ideal look I go for in classic circulated coins. One of only three Barber quarters in my collection!

    Thanks for looking

Nice coins, Billy! That Barber has the look I like in circulated silver too. Half dimes are a challenge to image, but yours looks nice.

  12. Thanks guys!!

I have always said that history is what drives me to collect...and I prefer the coins that actually made that history! An uncirculated is nice (and I do have some in my collection) but they just don't hold the allure that a classic circulated coin has, to me.
