    Hi All,

I am searching rolls of Jeffersons I get at the bank. Could anyone tell me what to save besides FS (Full Steps) ? Most are 1970 through present.
    Any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

war nickels are worth something- you probably won't find many though. Aside from that the only reason I see to look through nickels is if you get brand new 2011 rolls and try to find a ms67 or ms68.

Sure you will - I've found 6 of them so far in probably a few hundred bucks of nickels. I've also found 4 buffalo nickels. Keep looking!

I've found a few war nickels roll searching in the last year. Most of them were pretty beat up, maybe in the G-VG range, with a lot of heavy toning, real beaters. Then I stumbled across this one. I figure she's got to be pushing EF.

Thanks for the information everyone. A war nickel is worth about $2 in silver so any found in a roll is worth it. That pic of a 42P really inspires me. I am a huge Lincoln roll searcher pulling all copper except bad corrosion; putting them back into circulation to wear off the corrosion and let somebody else find them looking better!!!

I've searched over 100 boxes of nickels. I only keep pre-1960. I'm over 120 war nickels found, over 50 Buffalo nickels, and four V-nickels. About $150 face in pre-1960's nickels as well.

I have a half of a box of Jeffs right now actually- I found 0 in the first half. I thought it would be a nice silver play but there are just not many out there.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the 1950-D, a coin that's worth keeping. Plus the war nickels. The other dates that I know of:
1938-D&S and 1939-D&S. I don't know much about the series but there's some dates that are worth keeping.

Not bad right? I mean on a $2 investment, one of those pays off!
