Rare 1792 penny sells for $1.15 million?

    "The silver was added to make the penny heavier". Said Todd Imhof, Vice President of heritage auctions.

    Um....no.

    The silver was added to make the cent worth...one cent.

    The silver center was supposed to be worth 3/4 a cent, and the copper 1/4 a cent.

    And to REDUCE the weight. The as authorized all copper cent weighed four times as much.
