R.R. Denarius - new aquisition - P. Clodius M. F. Turrinos

    Another in the bunch of 'Republicans' that I recently purchased, was this Denarius of

    P. Clodius M. F. Turrinos dated 42 B.C.
    AR 18 - 20 mm., 3.1 gm.,
    Obv: Head of Apollo right, lyre behind, with banker's mark.
    Rev: P CLODIUS M F Diana Lucifera standing, facing, holding two long torches, bow and quiver over shoulder.

    I do not have one from Turrinos... The only one that I have from that year is the Sewer Goddess of Rome...

    Wonderful posts guys!!

    Since I've posted my sole Clodius/Apollo/Diana type numerous times lately and 'Volodya' just did above, I'll pass this time....but I purchased a few other RR denarii for future threads and I'll post this one of a scarce 'wreathed' Mars (moneyer Gellius) and possibly a reverse of Mars and his abduction of Nerios---the Sabine goddess of marriage and an allusion to the moneyers heritage, struck 138 BC.
