Good question. Take them back to the bank or dump them into a coin counting machine at a bank, cause they might not charge you

Sell them on eBay, craigslist, or one of the people on CT. Don't take them to the bank, unless you tell me which bank you put them in. :)

Hey each Wheat Cent has a melt value of copper of 2.9c right now. I stick mine back into tubes and save them. But 1500 isn't that many. You could offer them on eBay. They will fit in a small priority mail box or the priority mail padded envelope for shipping.

that would be the best way. I belong to a coin club and every month someone has a bunch of wheats up for auction. I guess they just get passed around. Take some, add some. Soon i have to do the same with my wheats. i know they usually go for 2-3 cents each. Sometimes more but thats rare. Snowman

Why not do like hundreds of others? Sell them on eBay as "UNSEARCHED"!

If you plan on getting more I'd keep them. Become a hoarder like the rest of us!

I hoard copper and I hoard wheat pennies because I love the design. I don't even have enough wheat pennies.
I do however have more than enough 1959-1982 CU pennies 10's of thousands and my wife hates it!

But yes I would hold onto them because they are wheat pennies.

Again if anyone wants to give/sell me bulk wheat pennies (common dates) I WILL TAKE THEM!!!! PM ME

"I would kill to have some space in here."
"Cant you just spend some of them"
    "After this NO MORE PENNIES!"

That's why they call me The Penny Man

I love wheat cents to. I only have like 1200 though so I am still trying to find more while roll searching. I also save all the copper cents while roll searching which I have about 20,000 of. But I would love to have like 15,000 wheat cents in my possession :)

True maybe you outta put them in a shoe box and give them to a friend to hold on to?
Just saying $15 Face in Pennies would sell for a good $40-50 On ebay maybe more if someone is not educated on the value

If you give them to a friend to hold on to you can hoard them later when you get off base.

if you don't mind by me asking are you active duty? I have three friends in the US Army two are currently in war and the other is in Germany (Lucky!)

Would't we all it's 1,500 wheaties in question though.

All my wheats I found roll searching and I only have a few 100. (Out of tens of thousands of copper pennies, I really think there is another roll searcher @ my bank who neglects copper pennies, and just takes the wheats because I usually only find 1 out of ever box or two of pennies) occasionally I get lucky and find one roll with 3-4 in it.

Still looking for the day when I find an entire roll of wheat pennies!

If you don't mind lugging them around and a coin show is in town, I would go to a coin show and sell them for about 1.50 a roll.
