Hello. Just some questions and thoughts from me.

I am wondering why the gloss differs so heavily of these Hyperpyron minted under Andronicus II.

The first 4 lots here you will see Hyperpyron from the late Byzantine era, however they look very “silver” out:

Here the lot 655, which is exactly the same Hyperpyron, that gloss look very “gold”

So why that different gloss? Different camera settings? Or because different environments?

And one more thing if any has comments:

About the lot 1179 the coin has been attributed as Michael II. – Do any experienced collectors agree with that attribution?

Because I see basically nothing, I see no persons standing, I see no details. I see only an extremely low grade coin which make any identification impossible. – But I want to hear what the experienced collectors say.

Notice their description of the reverse is:
Manuel standing facing, holding cruciform sceptre.

Perhaps we should substitute Manuel for the other Michaels in their listing and call it a typo. I know nothing about the coin but do not see much resemblance to the Sear plate coin. That could be me as much as the coin. I wonder why they show the obverse on the right side. Another typo.
