I'm thinking about trying a subscription to a coin magazine. I have gotten several issues of COINS before and found them interesting, but for some reason, can't seem to find a place around me that sells COINage.

Do any of you get COINage? Do you like the magazine and find it to have useful information? Do you like COINage or COINS better?

Also, is Coin World formatted more like a newspaper than a magazine?

    Thanks!

EDIT: Oh, and at $11.88 for a one year (12 issues) introductory offer, COINage looks pretty good.

I can't find Coin World in the city. I've looked for it too, up and down. We used to have better magazine and news paper shops, especially in Times Square, but they seem to have been pushed out of the community. The Coin magazines I have seen come down to being terrible price guilds.

Have you tried Barnes & Noble? I think they have it.

Yeah, you're right, you wouldn't want to shop at one of the stores where the lesser parts of the country also shop. ;) lol

I recommend Coin World and Numismatic News - issued weekly. The paper they are printed on is like a newspaper but the format is that of a magazine.

As for not being able to find them - ever think of ordering a subscription and just having it delivered ? And if that's not your cup of tea - you can also get an on-line subscription and access it from your computer.

I get Coin World and by coincidence I subscribed to COINage today before signing on here. How about your local library. Mine gets Coins and Coin World. By the way is it pronounced coin age or coinage? My mind works in mysterious ways and dont want to sound like a fool?!

Boarders books carry Coinage, coinworld and coin values, actually the BB in my area carries all three but for some reason the one downtown dosen't carry any coin mags, could be some form of evil marketing strategy.

the only Borders I know of was at the World Trade Center before they blew it up. Is there another downtown? BTW - did you know that the only remaining trace of the trade center is on the E train connection to the path where the stairs survivved with the origianl white marble.

    Coin World and Numismatic News:

Is there really enough coin collecting news and other happenings to fill a publication once a week?
