I have two pennies both of them are 1975 plain both of them have an engraved type marking on the ob. side one of them, with the letters WY within a box , The second coin has a marking that looks like a flag with the letters MD within it. Are these mint marks from other states? and do these have any value? I have pics. in the gallery Thanks

It sounds like they have counter stamped by someone. That is post mint damage to the coin...it doesn't ad any numismatic value, but I'm sure there are people out there that collect stamped coins that they might be worth something to. But, they are only 1975 cents which don't have much value anyway...I'd probably hang on to them because they are neat and something you don't see everyday.

I have two Lincolns that have a stamp in the shape of the state of West Virgina with the initials WV in the middle. I don't recall the dates...there in my error cup. I also have one that has a stamp of J.F.k.'s profile. I heard some outside company stamped these and sold them years ago. Try doing a search on this forum if you want more info. And welcome to CT.:)
