There are a few coins listed on my local craigslist that seem way to good to be true and I was hoping to get some opinions. I have heard that the NGSC is a sketchy coin grading company and I wanted to do my research before I consider buying them. Any help would be appreciated and here is a link http://rochester.craigslist.org/clt/3287618307.html
Stay far away ! to the OP... when you look at those coins, ask yourself "what is MY grading opinion ?" The grade on the slab is another matter. We'll address that later. What is YOUR opinion of the coin's grade ? I'll start. The walking liberty half is obviously circulated. It's hard to say from fuzzy photos, but it's maybe XF40. MS67 ? Insanity.
Doesn't it strike you as a little odd they only show ONE SIDE of the coins ? What tha... ? Wha... ???? This listing isn't questionable. There's no question about it. Total nonsense. Avoid 'em like the plague.
I say we play a little game ! What does "NGSC" stand for ? I'll start... I say "No Good Super Crappy"
The labels look the they came from an Inkjet... And since when is "XF Details, Polished" "MS67"? lolol FWIW, NGSC is not a "legit" grading company per se, but someone who sticks junk silver in opening plastic holders to sell to some poor n00bismatist.
Not Gonna Sell Coins Nicest Grades Should Concern Never Give Second Chance Nearly Godlike Super Cointastic! Novice Grader Smoking Crack Nubian Goat Smuggling Circus YEah I cant believe ebay wouldn't let me post my SGS MS70 Kennedy that should've sold for BIG $$$, they woulda made a fortune too.
We should make this into a poll for Best Acronym ! I vote for "Novice Grader Smoking Crack" as the all-time champ.
