My bank is chase and I would like to have transaction goes smooth without stepping wrong foot or unnecessary embarrassing moment while asking for large number of coins. I wonder if you have "Do's and Dont's while you are at the bank"?

I am interesting to order $500 box of Kennedy Half Dollar Rolls. (eBay are selling them more than $100+FV per box) How do I request that I want the older box, not current date box? What term that teller will understand what I am requesting? I don't want to see teller saying "huh?".

Also, I have other question. Is it possible to request bank for IKE bags or rolls? Does IKE coins still exist at bank or it's no longer provide at FV?

Any input will be appreciate. Thanks.

I have been getting boxes of halves for over 5 years now and hve asked about "older" boxes, and am told that the bankers have no access to which boxes are being "pulled" from the vaults, it is a "first grabbed, first out" kind of a thing. I have also asked about "IKES" and am told that they are no longer available by the banks vaults.... "IF" you find a source for them, please let me know as I am still interested in them too.
Remember too to be especially nice to these tellers at the banks as they are NOT required to get the boxes, they do it as a service "for you" and have never charged me for this service either. Ron

Are you worried about getting a box full of brand-new uncirculated coins, like you do sometimes with other coins? The chance of that happening with a box of halves is essentially zero.

As for getting them to order it, ask "Will you please order a box of half dollar coins for me? I believe they come in boxes of $500." If they say yes, find out when they'll arrive and pick them up promptly. If they say no, or they tell you there's a fee, try again at a different branch.

I ask for the merchant or vault teller, buy up any loose Ikes and halves they have on hand, then inquire if it's possible to order in a box of halves. I've never gotten a solid date box, but most of the time, the boxes are date stamped/coded within the previous two months.
THey are much more willing to help you if you have an account with them, as well.
