Can someone please tell me why on British ,Australian, and Canadian coins the king is not wearing a crown yet on Malayan. Indian and other colonial coins the king is wearing a crown?

I suppose it was just a matter of sophistacation and taste. the "Little people" needed to see the crown.

I've never thought about it. Bare headed effigies have been used on numerous coins through the ages. I don't know if there is a significant reason that they chose the King or Queen to be crowned or not on coins other than a design decision.

It could be related to those countries' status within the empire. I know on many coins it says "Emperor of India" in the king's title, but it doesn't mention Canada, Australia, etc. Canada and Australia I think were dominions, and the other possessions I think were under more royal control.
