Question on the style of the P on this quarter ?

    On this quarter I find the P odd because it looks like it was a D but made into a P.

    Suppose you cut the leg off the "P" to make it look like a "D". This letter would now be much smaller than the typical "D" used for the mintmark.

    In other words, it never happened!
