What is the best way to get high quality pictures of my coins on my computer. I have a digital camera but can't seem to get really good pictures. I have an all in one printer/copier/scanner but the scan function really doesn't do a great job.

Recommendations on a high quality scanner or digital camera and what would be the proper way to to do it would be greatly appreciated.

A belated Merry Christmas to all!

Tripod, diffused lighting, macro setting are a start.

There are MANY threads on photography in the forum. A simple search yielded this good thread covering everything:

Thanks for the link. I will make sure and do the search feature next time. I think I will try the epson perfection scanner mentioned in the thread. Seems to be the cheapest method that could yield good results.

Ok..Got me an Epson Perfection Flatbed Scanner at Best Buy for about 100 bucks. Also bought on Ebay a Canon Powershot SD400 5.0 Megapixel camera. Guy at Bestbuy took a picture of a quarter with at that camera and it came out really nice.
    Thanks for everyones advise.
