So far for all my *special* collections I've used Dansco albums to store and display my collections. Now I have some, I guess I'd say, common...modern...not so special, but UNC sets that I've started and I'd Like to put them in albums. I don't want to spend Dansco money, but don't want folders either. I like the look and feel of albums store the coin in viewable way for both obverse and reverse. Any suggestions for good albums that aren't as expensive, but look good?
You might try Wizard Coin Supply as they have pretty decent discounts on most Dansco items and Littleton pages also. But the other post is correct...stay with Dansco if you can.
I'm not certain if this helps, but I have used the Dansco albums in the past as well as the old Library of Coins albums as well as Whitman Classic albums. I think all three are fairly equivalent, except that the Library of Coins albums have been off the market for many years and quite a few of the Whitman Classic albums have been retired, as well. In my opinion each of these three will work beautifully, but they all cost about the same amount.
Would anyone like to explain the thinking on this? I am looking at some Littleton and Whitman albums as well as Dansco.
Dansco just has a wider variety of albums, that is the only reason I say stick to one. I'm not too familiar with the Littleton albums so I can't really offer an opinion there, but the Whitman albums are nice as well.
I like the Littleton albums best because as with Dansco you can also buy the sleeves to place the albums in. Not so with Whitman. A little more protection for the album so as not to get the album worn on the edges and helps to keep them straight.
