I know 1871 had a small mintage - but I think I could do better than this price. Or is this a variety I am un aware of - I still would not bid on this coin. Just curious.
I know why it is so high! A previous owner marked $225 on teh 2X2 so therefore it MUST be worth that much right? lol

Actually it is SAPPERnurse....not snapper lol My first 7 years in the Army and Army National guard were as a Combat Engineer. Engineers had an advanced demolition/small team leader course known as Sapper leader Course. After 7 years, i had the opportunity to reclassify to become a combat medic. While At medic school I was selected to become a nurse. Best of my two careers in the Army: Sapper school and nursing
That coin brought full retail trends money for a VG piece and I would not consider that piece to be VG.....its not an attractive coin.
