Hey guys what were the best errors you ever found. Not bought found. Post picture and description of coin!!!!!Happy hunting
Found where? You might get them from the bank, but they don't give them away. Neither does the Mint. Metal detecting? Road kill? Chris
I had a pretty good idea what he meant, but he needs to be more specific. Shoot! I hope he doesn't have a gun in his hand. Chris
i have never found any errors, detecting, in change or otherwise, mind you its only the last couple of years ive actually started looking
It doesn't add value but i have a penny i pulled out of a roll with a die crack all the way through the word one
Sorry for being to genral.lol. but ive been collecting for about 5 months and found at least 200 errors but i do get 50 dollars worth of rolls at the bank
In 1996, while stationed at Holloman AFB in New Mexico, I got a 1955 DDO in pocket change. At first, I thought it was fake, but then had it authenticated at a local coin shop. I could not believe my luck!! Don't have a picture, but I put the grade at AU-53; I sold it a couple of years ago when I upgraded to an MS-61 BN, but I'll never forget that day!!
Well, since you started this thread, how about posting some photos of your errors, too? My favorite is my 2001-D Kennedy missing the clad layer on the reverse. I found it in a $100 Mixed P&D bag I bought from the Mint, but it doesn't count because it cost me 68c. My second most favorite is a 2005-S KS SQ Silver Proof with a die gouge on the bison. What makes this most appealing for me is that it is graded NGC PF70 UCAM MINT ERROR. Of course, this one doesn't count either because I bought the proof set from the Mint. Chris
I guess the best one is my double struck 1971-S Silver Business Strike Eisenhower. Not terribly valueable but it was fun defining the actual error and in getting PCGS to recognize it.
