I like to mess around on a local auction site. They auction most anything from time to time so I don't expect them to be coin experts.... They put this one up today and called it a date error. To me, this is the result of an unfortunate hit the coin took during it's life. So that's my question. There isn't a known 1925 date error SLQ is there?

    Hi Randy,
    I would wager post-mintage damage.

Just a circulation hit to the date.

I’m thinking the 2 was hit from the top. I know of no varieties on the date for this coin.

Liberty saw a spider on the 2. Her left leg is poised to keep stomping it.

The only error I am familiar with on the 1925 is the clashed E, I agree that this is most likely post-mint damage.

Yes, the not so famous stomped 2 error.

Why is everyone picking on the Two? Looks like a "flat top".
