Question concerning 2007 dime

    Have a question in regards to a dime. Underneath the neck area is a built up area. I was told it is where air gets underneath the alloy causing it to rise up. Just checking to see if this is the case. minor i know but just curious. Thanks

    This is a small die chip . a small chip has fallen out of the die that struck this coin and the coins metal flowed up into where the chip came off the die. Our modern coin dies are really bad for chips coming off them.
