    Hi all,
why does it seem that many copper Norwegian coins have the same tonning? I wish I could post a photo but there is no way to capture it. I have tried MANY times. The toning is very subtile and even over both sides of the coin, the color range is blue to purple. It only seems to be on uncirculated coins.

Any and all thoughts are welcome
    Thanks!

You can kind of see what I mean in this photo, hope it helps. You can see the toning at 8 and 2 o'clock. The same tone is even over the whole coin.

    Thanks Again

The coin from norway from the 70´s and upwards have this toning. I see it on every coin that still has mint luster. I have no clue on what this is

I'm thinking maybe the metal composition? Your right Siggi, I have only seen it on coins that have it's original luster.
    Thanks for the reply!
