Question about shipping times?

OK, I sent some error coins off to ANACS to be slabbed on 05/12 in the morning.

I sent them Priority Mail / Registered / with an appropriate amount of insurance.

It is now 05/23/07 and according to the USPS's website, they have not been received yet.

Now aside from the fact that the 3-5 business day's specified by the US Postal Service is not a guarantee, I'm starting to get nervous that now it's the 9th business day and it still hasn't been received.

Now I understand that Registered Mail does add some time to the shipping, so I'm curious as to what others have gotten for shipping times when sending a submission to a grading service? Mine was a large submission and I bought insurance for $13,000.

I'm wondering if there's a threshhold on the insurance amount beyond which they use additional measures that delay the shipping time. Or if the ANAC's address combined with the Registered Mail label just makes it a target for theft within the postal system.

i would contact USPS and ask about starting an nsurane claim. I know its too soon to do it, but based on the dollar amount - it might kick start them to look for the boxes. Priority/registered mail is usually MUCh quicker.

I would think that Priority Mail should have already arrived, even if it was registered. You should contact USPS.

i usually have a package before the USPS ever shows it as being picked up
i also have a few slips that never showed it got there, there tracking is horrible

that remindeds me that last time i sent to anacs i had to call because it never showed up on the postal site

Well, checking again this afternoon, the USPS site just now shows it as having been received today. What a sigh of relief. While I know I put a healthy retail value down for the insurance, I think I still prefer to have the coins.

I know I've sent priority mail plenty of times and it's arrived in 2 days or less. Well, I guess here's another shipment keeping the average up to 3-5 days.

I'll give ANACS a day or two for it to show up on their website, then I'll call them.

It is possible that the package was delivered when no Anacs workers were around to sign for it, so it may have sat in the post office until Anacs went to pick it up or the PO said here is your 2nd notice that you have a registered package

TIt took almost two weeks for the last thing I rec'd via registered mail. Wasn't speedy, but it did get there, unlike the $1,000 bill sent priority. That was insured but the PO *still* hasn't paid the insurance claim (or sent anything regarding the issue). Meanwhile, PayPal took care of me via their Buyer's Protection. The seller is out the $$$ though, until USPS pays the claim and I send him the $$$.
