I am preparing a group of about 14 coins to go in to grade, including the very nice 1929 toned $2 1/2 I posted several months back. Are NGC pictures good enough to pay the $15 fee? Also, can I get it done on just that one coin, or do I have to do all of them?

I haven't had them image coins for me, but the photos I have seen were very good. Imaged coins should be submitted on a separate form from coins you do not want imaged.

    I think it's only $5 each.

So if I only want one imaged, it has to be sent in by itself? No fun

You can send it together with the other coins to consolidate shipping cost, but it needs its own submission form. You may be able to get them to send both submissions back together to save on shipping cost as well.

I used ngc for photos once. I would say they are quite good, more accurate than pcgs, which is to say, they are less sexy. So, keep that in mind. These are not trueviews.

Speaking of TrueView, can't you get that for free when you submit a coin for Secure service (which costs $5)? So, basically, you can either get Secure service for $5 and a free TrueView, or TrueView for $5 with free Secure service. I'd consider going that route myself, if I wanted TPG images.

Yes Secure service is a $5 add on to other grading levels. Modern is $16, Economy is $20 and Regular is $32, plus $5 for Secure if you want that. If you submit without adding Secure and want TrueViews, the photo work will cost $10.

So far the "free TrueViews" haven't exactly been a TrueView with the template. They've been the same photo with a white background. If you want the TrueView background you have to email the photo department.

So the you can get the TrueView template, but you have to request this by contacting the photo department?

Sorry, just want to make sure I'm understanding so I can have this done on my next submission. Thanks.

You could also request the TrueView template in the comment section of the submission form.......or attach a request to the form. I was under the impression that this would be automatic, but so far it hasn't been. Otherwise contact customer service or the photo dept by email - photography@collectors.com

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

In my experience, the NGC photos are not nearly worth the price. There are several forum members that charge much less and produce much better pictures. I would investigate some of these options.

I agree, but then I'm a bit biased.
