How can one be sure that a roll is BU, without opening it? How about a sealed box of rolls - how can one know for sure? You can see the end coins, but does that prove anything?

I see lots of listings on Ebay for the new Lincoln cents in BU rolls and boxes, but I wonder if these things are being taken on faith? Does this NF String and Son wrapper everyone seems to want offer any guarantee?

the odds are in your favor that if all 50 rolls in a box a bright red - that the whole box should be.

i've heard of some roll searchers that do find a circulated coin in what was thought to be new. But this is usually the armor truck service who roll them. they might throw some older coins in with some new ones.

you got to remember that boxes of coins are typically for businesses - not for collectors. so you get what you get !
