I have found one of the new Minnesota State quaters that appears to have an unplatted side. The "tails" side of the quarter appears as though it has not been nickle platted.

My question is does anyone know if this is a mistake from the mint or has it been messed with while in circulation? I am not sure since I have not heard of any unplated quarters in circulation.

I am sorry I don't have the capability to get a picture yet so i will try and discribe the quater.

this is a Minnesota state quarter.
    "P"
the "Head" side of the quarter is plated, clean, and shinny.
the "tail" side of the quater has a sooper coller to it and is dull.

Other than a few niks and scratches the quater is in very good shape.

Thank you for you help and interest.

Get a photo or a scan of it anyway you can....talk to a firend that might could help.......if its real it would be worth $$ but it could be damaged too so then it wouldn't be worth anything...we can be more sure when we see the photos....also if you can weight it?...

Don't clean it at all...as that will lower the value....and hold it by the edge (or rim)...
