Wait a minute...I subjected the Quartermaster letter to ammonia vapor and then ironed it and...THIS showed up!!!
I just opened mine. Very entertaining letter inside. I was wondering about the Missouri/Villain connection. Bets I can think of is the connection that @Kentucky made to SWMO football.
Sherlock Holmes took place in London, England. New London Connecticut, could be a reference to Quartermaster as the new Moriarty?
hello all. i believe the answer to the original post is "arch villain". which is what the newsletter alludes to. notice the st. louis arch is poised right above the word "villain". ARCH VILLAIN. who is the arch villain? the QM, or the person dispersing false accusations? maybe it's edwin padilla? the current newsletter seems to be a follow up to the last one. the QM did say this counterstamp had nothing to do with the current newsletter's info. my belief is that the charter oak stamped on the reverse of that quarter resides dead center of that counterstamp'd zip code. or somewhere there within. but on that i could be wrong. hope this helps. karl
nice to meet you, edwin. i was not accusing you of any false accusations, i assure you. in the original newsletter, which @Mountain Man was nice enough to post https://www.cointalk.com/threads/another-quarternotes-quarter.406343/ (i'm not on the mailing list), has anyone seen @Mountain Man? i believe he was in poor health. i hope he's ok. the last newsletter reads very much like this one, and the subject remains in the same vein. just a guess though. good looking quarter, none the less. congrats! karl
