Quarter size 1945 penny

    Hi friends at CT, I hope it all doing great. I need some serious help with this penny all you coin experts, please. Look at this penny and see if you can tell me the reason that this penny is the size of a quarter. Thank you all.

    You have nothing in the image to reference the size against, but if it is that size then it probably is the same as the other few we have had on here this week. A TEXAS PENNY where the coin is sandwiched between two strips of leather and beaten. Everything enlarges at the same rate so appears normal, just larger.

    You should take a photo of a normal sized Cent against this one. From your description it sounds like a Texas Cent. Copper is soft and if the coin was protected it can be enlarged without damage to the coin.

    Quarter size is a bit extreme. Usually when someone makes one of these they stop at nickel size.
