Would this be with anything more than face? There seems to be an issue with the "N". I'm not a coin guy so I don't know. IMG_5377.JPG

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

Blurry as it is, it seems to be a nice example of a 1983, and that in itself is nothing to sneeze at. There were no mint sets that year, and the circulating quality coins are not that common in really nice shape.

    Hi @mikep !

As an error coin, no! The "N" may have been smashed a bit in circulation.

The other possibility - also not really adding value - is a die chip.

The part of the coin that sticks up is the depressions in the die. So the little area between the I and the N is a thin ridge on the die. If that breaks off, then metal will fill the gap between the I and N.

But we need a better picture to be sure.
