Pulled this from a roll at work as it appeared to be a silver quarter or Canadian. Upon pulling it I noticed it was a state so figured it would be like the silver proofs I have but it's P. Weighed 5.8 grams so I know it's not silver just thought strange that the rim hasn't the slightest of copper.

Thanks for the quick response. I have never seen a clad rim like this. I did not consider it being plated. What does one plate it with and why?

    Thanks again!

Check out the crap they sell on home shopping network. They plate them with a bunch of different stuff; silver, gold, platinum. Regardless of what it is plated with it's all PMD.
