Have come across two bi-centennial quarters that have the same melting drum is this a truely an error and what type would it be called? This is a regular quarter. This is the melting drum, both are in the same shape and location. I am only posting one of the pics
This is the other one, under magnification it looks to be after the first one as this one has the rter in quarter and dolla in dollar appear to be some what flattened out. My mother had these and I would assume that they were found at the same time/roll possibly. Due to her current health issues she isn't able to answer.
I have no idea as I'm not a coin collector let alone an error collector. came across these two in mothers stuff. she wasn't a collector in the sense of the word usage on this forum. I collect tokens and medals!
Weak strike. The drum is opposite Washington's head and there just wasn't eough metal/pressure to fill the design on both sides. It is nothing special.
