I have a trivial question on the new Jovita Idar quarter. Is this the first or only US Coin without any thing outside of a Reverse portrait?
Reason I ask is it sticks out so profusely until you magnify to reveal all the pertinent coined standards? Thanks DB quarter.png

I think yes. The Gobrecht dollar had a date under seated liberty

Not a fan of this one. From a design standpoint, way too busy. The subject should be potrayed without all the words explaining who she was. As to the question, not sure without further research.

There are words all over the reverse.

Gotta work it hard to find E Plurabus but it's there. :)

A great lady deserving of the attention. Interesting how the mint placed pertinent information on the coin, I like it. to answer your question; yes, maybe, and perhaps. I covered all the bases right, right, I think. Thanks for sharing.

Add to that the No Stars half dime and dime which were “baby Gobrecht Dollars.”
