I just received my 2006 SAE collection but after reading about how easily pure silver tarnishes I'm wondering how well the coin containers provided by the US Mint will hold up over time? If they're failure prone (i.e., not airtight) then is getting them slabbed my only option? I'm not concerned about getting them graded but I'd like to head off having them become tarnished. Thanks-in-advance!

If the TONE. So be it. I have US MINT SENTS that are over 20 years old and there no toning and i have some where te coins have toned very nicely. Either way. If you dont need to pay for a TPGS, then dont. If you ask me LEAVE THEM ALONE. If the plasitcs not cracked or not fitting right then send them or a slabbing,

Even if you get them slabbed they can and might tone---a slab is NOT airtight.

There is no guarantee, even with TPG's.
Let Nature do it's thing, besides, toning can enhance the value, and attractiveness.
